Victoria Bridgland

Victoria is an early career researcher who graduated with a research PhD in late 2021, and currently works as a Lecturer at Flinders University. She is interested in the ways that appraisals and expectancies (such as expecting to feel distressed after reading a trigger warning) affect our wellbeing (e.g., mental health related symptoms such as anxiety). She is also interested in the ways that we use everyday language around mental health and the impacts of social media in shaping mental health outcomes. In 2019 she won a South Australian Postgraduate Fulbright Scholarship, which she completed at Harvard University in 2022 working with Professor Richard McNally’s laboratory.
