I am currently completing my Honours project in the Forensic and Clinical Cognition Lab.
I’ve always had a particular interest in how our brain processes disturbing events and trauma. Consequently, I’m fascinated by the different mechanisms our brain uses to cope with the psychological impact of these experiences.
My thesis aims to further explore prevention and mitigation strategies for reducing psychological harm to content moderators. In particular, we will investigate how image features, such as colour or blur, can influence how people feel after viewing disturbing content. My thesis aims to investigate the underlying mechanisms of this effect and its broader influence on post-traumatic stress symptoms. This research will also have wider implications for how we go about mitigating psychological harm associated with content moderation in the future.
