After completing my undergraduate studies here at Flinders (2023-2025), this year I will be undertaking my Honours at the Forensic and Clinical Cognition Lab. With Dr Taylor Swain as my supervisor, I will be investigating the prevalence inflation hypothesis. In recent years we have seen an increase in mental health awareness. It has been hypothesised that whilst this increased mental health awareness can be beneficial, it may also lead to people over-interpreting normal forms of distress as clinical mental health problems. The prevalence inflation hypothesis must be empirically tested to better understand how to minimise this phenomenon.
Outside of university I work as a co-educator in the childcare industry, but in my spare time I read books, catch up with friends, and play netball, basketball, and volleyball.
