I am currently undertaking my Honours program within the Forensic and Clinical Cognition Lab, supervised by Dr Victoria Bridgland.
As everyday use of AI chatbots becomes more common, psychological researchers show interest in how AI is used in everyday life for wellbeing. My thesis aims to investigate whether AI chatbots are a helpful tool for emotional processing by determining if AI chatbot responses influence how participants cope with a stressful task. I am particularly interested in how users interact with AI systems for emotional support, and if AI chatbots pose more benefits or risks for user wellbeing.
