Alissar Azar

I initially completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at Flinders University, where my interest in the human brain and behaviour first began. Studying neuroanatomy and neurophysiology sparked my curiosity about how the brain responds to emotional experiences, particularly under conditions of stress and trauma. This growing interest led me to pursue a postgraduate entry program in Psychology.

In 2025, I am completing my Honours year in the Forensic and Clinical Cognition Lab. My Honours thesis investigates whether the enhanced memory recall typically observed for disgust reactions extends to morally disgusting stimuli, with implications for trauma-based therapies and occupational mental health.
